MakerBot's 3D Zee

The idea for a 3D-printed canvas came out of a little side project at the Brooklyn-based MakerBot Studios, where Design head Lane Feuer became intrigued with the collectible craze he saw in Japan and the growing interest in blank vinyl toys. What if, they thought, they gave artists a 3D model that had just enough form, and just few enough features to inspire new kinds of 3D art.
